A community shop has gone from “strength to strength” since first opening, as it looks ahead to its third anniversary.

The Bythams Community Shop and Café first opened in 2020, and it has served the people of Castle Bytham and Little Bytham ever since the last community shop closed over 10 years ago.

Horse trailer stolen from Castle Bytham and tools stolen from van in South Witham

A horse trailer stolen from a village property has been traced by police.

The trailer was discovered missing from Castle Bytham on Friday last week (October 14).

A few hours later it was tracked down in Fulbeck, north of Grantham, along with another trailer that had been stolen in Leicestershire.

Castle Bytham Midsummer Festival to return for 2022

A village event that offers live music, real ales, shopping and an abundance of food will return next weekend (June 18 and 19).

Castle Bytham Midsummer Festival starts on the Saturday with the 5km ‘Chase’ race, in which entrants are pursued by a pitchfork-waving farmer.

Castle Bytham casual runner who lost mum and brother to cancer to tackle London Marathon for Macmillan Cancer Support

A casual runner is aiming to push his powers of endurance to the limit at the world’s biggest marathon as he targets a hefty sum for a cancer charity close to his heart.

John Pridgeon is running the London Marathon on Sunday, October 3 for Macmillan Cancer Support with his friend Andy Wilson and has been tasked with raising £10,000 for his charity place.
